Professional-development mentorship for EV researchers
The ISEV-SNEV Mentorship Program pairs extracellular vesicle researchers one-to-one for a 12-month professional-development relationship, matched on career topics, EV focus areas, and time zone.
This is a career-development program, not technical research consulting. Pairs focus on things like grant-writing, career transitions, leadership, communication, and navigating the EV community - not on troubleshooting a specific assay.
About the program
Applications are reviewed by a committee drawn from ISEV and SNEV. Once accepted, each mentee is paired with a single mentor based on ranked career topics, EV focus areas, and time zone. Both sides confirm the match by signing a short program compact, and the 12-month relationship begins.

Sign the compact
You review a summary of your match and accept by signing the Mentorship Program Compact online. Once both sides have signed, we introduce you by email.
Meet for 12 months
Pairs meet roughly every other month for 12 months - about six one-hour meetings, scheduled however suits you both.
For mentees
- Graduate students, postdocs, and early-career researchers working in, or moving into, EV biology who want structured career development over a year.
- Clinician-scientists and industry scientists looking for an external perspective on a career transition.
- Mentees should bring a concrete set of career topics they want to work on - not a specific experiment they want debugged.
For mentors
- PIs, senior postdocs, staff scientists, and senior industry researchers willing to meet with each mentee bi-monthly (every other month) for 12 months - roughly one hour per meeting.
- Mentors choose to support 1-3 mentees per cycle, jointly or separately.
- Mentors from underrepresented regions and backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.
- Prior mentoring experience is not required - we provide a mentor toolkit during onboarding.
Apply
Applications open twice a year: October 1-15 and April 15 - May 15. The form takes about 5 minutes and the committee aims to respond within two weeks of the window closing.
